Fingerfood: a simple bruscetta

A friend of mine is coming over and therefore I want to make a little dish that is easy to eat, healthy and taste good. With a lot of conversations going on I need some finger food! That is why I choose this day for some bread, tomato and mozzarella. Those three ingredients will suit perfect with a glass of wine and a little afternoon sun on the balcony.

I love the mix of the well-known tomato, mozzarella and basilicum, but I need more food to fill my belly today. That is why I make this bruscetta. The recipe is easy and the taste is great. Just find some spelt bread or quinoa bread and toast it for 4/5 minutes. The bread must be crunchy when you eat it. On top of the bread, you put a thin slice of mozzarella and thin slices of fresh tomato. To finish this dish, put some oil on top of it and place a few basilicum leaves on the bruscetta’s for the taste. Finish this meal with a little salt and pepper. If you do it right, it will also look very pretty on your plate. Enjoy the taste of Italy!

Ski in Luxury

It is Tuesday, the day for some travel inspiration. I didn’t exactly find a budget place today, but I must say that this spot has the best of both worlds for everyone who loves to ski and wants  some luxury! I am talking about the LeCrans hotel in Crans-Montana, Switzerland. It is a two hours ride from Geneva and the hotel serves as a perfect ski-in, ski-out lodge, just 100 meters from the Crans Montana slopes. But it is not only a great place for skiing, LeCrans offers also a calming respite after a day on the slopes at their spa Le Cinq Mondes with a range of calming treatments plus more astounding views. Who doesn’t love that?! So it may be expensive, but the joy of the dazzling mountain scenery and some good skiing makes it totally worth it! And if you do not have the money to stay in this lovely hotel? Don’t worry! Wander away through more photographs at Get inspired!

Inspiration from money with stamps.

At Inspire me photograph we love to get inspired by photographs, lifestyles and also by new ideas. And this idea by David Gaz is absolutely great! A book inspired him about doing nice things for others. The idea is simple: if you do something nice for someone, you can create a chain reaction.  And with this thought he filmed a documentary and started a project called ‘Good Virus’.  According to their website they want to see if the ‘Good Virus’ effect plays out with money. They are thinking that if they give the money to someone who needs food, this money is spent and somebody else will receive it. Then once the money is in circulation, perhaps the next person who gets the bill will read the message and be inspired to spend it on a good cause too, and so on and so on..

We at Inspire me photograph believe that this is a very inspiring idea! So how can you recognize your ‘Good Virus’ dollar? The people of this project stamp on 1 dollar and 5 dollar bills the red sentence ‘This money has been used for good’. So try to see this money for something good and not directly for yourself. You can also help David Gaz to buy one of the stamps at the website below. Start stamping and get inspired by doing something good with a little money!

Mushroom and wild rice soup

It is Wednesday, the day for food inspiration! I am not in the mood for a big supper. So a meal like soup will do just fine on this cold day. And on top of all that, it is stuffed with wild rice to fill your belly. Get inspired and enjoy!

From Paris with love

Sometimes, a photograph isn’t enough for me to get inspired by. And if that’s the case, I want to experience a whole new lifestyle. So that is exactly what I did last weekend!  My love and I left Amsterdam for the city of romance: Paris. It is something what we do every year. Experiencing the lifestyle of the Parisians when we walk through the streets of this city. Eating Macarons of La Duree or Pierre Hermé and enjoying the rest of the french food like Magret de Canard. Drinking bottles of wine in one of the many lovely wine bars you can find in every district. But my favorite district is definitely Belleville and the Marais. It is young and trendy and the new Saint Germain! Furthermore in this district you can find a lot of vintage stores and there are a lot of great and fun restaurants where you can find real good food and wine for a decent price. So if you have time for a short city trip, choose Paris. Je t’aime Paris, till next year!

Paris: a potrait of a city

Today I am leaving Amsterdam for a short city trip to experience the romance in the most romantic city of this world: Paris. It is, after all, Valentine’s day. My mission is the quest for l’amour de Paris and by that I mean not only the romance of love. I will hopefully live and breathe the Parisian life for a couple of days. Hours filled with lots of wine and French food, taking the metro to anywhere. Wandering away through this city..

But of course I will not be able to blog everyday, because my days will be filled up with experience this wonderful city. Sorry ;-)! Therefore I found the solution! A must have and a great gadget to have in your home. I am talking about the book Paris: Portrait of a city by Taschen. This book contains everything from Daguerre to Dutronc. It is a fantastic coffee-table ode to the most romantic city on earth. Taschen calls it ‘The true family album of all Parisians’ and, with over 500 heart-stoppingly photographs, I agree. Get inspired by this book and experience l’amour de Paris jus ton your couch with a cup of coffee. It is, after all, Valentine’s day.

This time I already start with a breakfast recipe, because the first meal of the day is the most important one.  The only problem is that most people do not like to eat in the mornings, but it is necessary to eat something. It isn’t that hard to make and it taste great.  The recipe is simple: You need the ingredients of the photo and mix them in a blender. So next time you don’t need an excuse to miss breakfast, because this is your healthy and simple solution. Get inspired!

Castel Capuano, Naples

It is time to get inspired by a new place in Naples, southern Italy. This is Castel Capuano, the castle where the road through the city walls led out to the city of Capua. The first stones were build by William I, the son of Roger II of Sicily in the 12th century. It was the fist monarch of the kingdom of Naples.

But it is not only this castle what makes Naples so wonderful. First of all, Naples is the third city of Italy and the biggest city of the southern of Italy. This city has a rich history and you can find a lot of art and culture. And of course: the famous cuisine. They have the best pizza of all places around the world. You can ask an Italian if you don’t believe us. Get inspired!
